CVE-2023-53350

Local service interruption via slicing buffer leak

Published Sep 17, 2025 · Updated Sep 17, 2025

Memory leak in the Linux kernel QAIC driver 6.4 through 6.4.11 allows local users to exhaust memory through slicing requests. The slicing path in drivers/accel/qaic/qaic_data.c retains the temporary buffer holding user configuration after successful commands and frees it only on errors. Repeated successful requests by a low-privileged local user with access to an active AIC100 device deplete kernel memory and interrupt service.
