Unauthenticated settings access via forged privilege cookie
Published Oct 1, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper authentication in the SATO CL4NX-J Plus 1.13.2-u455_r2 Cookie Handler allows remote attackers to change printer settings. The handler accepts the client-supplied auth=user,level1,settings; web=true cookie value as authorization state instead of validating an authenticated session. The attacker must reach the printer from an adjacent network, and successful exploitation permits unauthorized setting changes that can affect printer operation.
