CVE-2023-53267

Local service interruption via Xilinx event memory leak

Published Sep 16, 2025 · Updated Sep 16, 2025

Memory leak in Linux 5.19 through 6.1.17 and 6.2 through 6.2.4 allows local users to exhaust memory and interrupt service. xlnx_add_cb_for_notify_event() allocates event data before callback data but returns after callback-data allocation failure without freeing the event allocation. Exploitation requires a local low-privileged user to reach this Xilinx driver path when allocation fails; repetition depletes kernel memory.
