CVE-2023-5324Public exploit

Ethernet interruption via truncated IPv6 extension header

Published Oct 1, 2023 · Updated Jun 18, 2025

Denial of service in eeroOS 6.9.0 through 6.16.4-11 allows attackers to interrupt inbound Ethernet traffic via a malformed IPv6 packet. The Ethernet packet handler stops receiving after parsing a zero-payload IPv6 packet whose hop-by-hop or destination-options header points past the packet end. The packet must reach the Ethernet segment; broadcast delivery disables every tested bridge-mode device for about eight minutes, while Wi-Fi remains available.
