Service interruption via unreleased probe allocation
Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025
Memory leak in the Qualcomm DWC3 USB glue driver in Linux allows local users to interrupt service by triggering device probing. dwc3_qcom_probe() heap-allocates a parent resource structure but retains the pointer without releasing the allocation after the probe path finishes. Reachability requires low-privileged local access and hardware using the Qualcomm DWC3 glue driver; repeated probe activity consumes kernel memory until availability is lost.
