Local service interruption via leaked node reference
Published Sep 15, 2025 · Updated Sep 15, 2025
Resource leak in the Linux kernel allows local users to interrupt service through Alpine MSI interrupt-domain initialization. The alpine_msix_init_domains function retains the reference returned by of_irq_find_parent because it omits the required of_node_put call. Reachability requires local low-privilege access on a system using the Alpine MSI interrupt controller; the public record does not describe a repeatable trigger.
