CVE-2023-5314Network attack vector

Subscriber-level arbitrary email sending via unchecked test-email

Published Nov 22, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Missing authorization in WPVNTeam WP EXtra 6.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to send arbitrary email through the site. The test-email branch of register() accepts attacker-controlled recipients and content and invokes the site's mail path without checking a WordPress capability. A subscriber account is sufficient, and successful requests relay attacker-chosen messages from the affected site's configured mail server.
