Authenticated identity takeover via fixed SAML sessions
Published Nov 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 4, 2024
Session fixation in Puppet Enterprise before 2021.7.6 or 2023.5 allows remote authenticated users to assume another SAML identity. Perforce has not disclosed the affected SAML session-handling locus or the exact operation that preserves an attacker-controlled session identifier. Exploitation requires an existing low-privilege account and a SAML-enabled deployment; success exposes and permits modification of data available to the impersonated user.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
