Service interruption via unchecked lpfc allocation failure
Published May 2, 2025 · Updated May 11, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in the Linux lpfc SCSI driver allows local users to interrupt service during memory exhaustion. lpfc_sli4_cgn_params_read passes a failed kzalloc result as a NULL pdata pointer to lpfc_read_object, which returns the misleading ENODEV error instead of ENOMEM. Triggering requires local low-privileged access and an allocation failure; published impact is limited to availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
