Local privilege escalation via writable installation folders
Published Nov 22, 2023 · Updated Sep 4, 2024
Privilege escalation in Fuji Electric Tellus Lite V-Simulator before 4.0.19.0 allows local users to execute code with another user's rights. The installer assigns incorrect permissions to product folders, allowing low-privileged code to replace files subsequently used by other users. Local low-privileged execution and interaction by another user are required; exploitation runs attacker-controlled code in that user's context.
