Local privilege escalation via premature VM publication

Use-after-free in Linux kernel 5.16 through 6.1.10 allows local users to escalate privileges through drm/i915 ioctls. I915_GEM_CONTEXT_GETPARAM publishes a VM in vm_xa before acquiring the extra reference, while a concurrent I915_GEM_VM_DESTROY can free it. Access to a local i915 render or primary node is required; successful reuse can disclose or modify kernel memory or cause a kernel panic.
