Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Oct 4, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in A WP Life Blog Filter 1.5.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via AWL-BlogFilter attributes. The AWL-BlogFilter shortcode path renders user-supplied attributes into page output without sufficient sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload, which executes in a visitor's browser when the injected page is opened.
