Kernel panic via NULL attribute dereference

NULL pointer dereference in Linux 3.0 through 6.2-rc4 allows local users to crash the kernel through an EFI variable request. The gsmi_get_variable function unconditionally writes through its attr pointer even when the EFI pstore caller passes attr=NULL. Local low-privileged access is required, and the resulting NULL dereference panics the host rather than exposing or modifying data.
