Unauthenticated device takeover via exposed management ports
Published Sep 29, 2023 · Updated Dec 9, 2024
Improper access control in SICK AG SIM1012 all versions allows remote attackers to alter configuration, reset it, or upload firmware. The management services on TCP ports 2111 and 2122 accept unauthenticated connections that reach device-control functions; SICK has not disclosed the faulty authorization check. Network reachability to either enabled port is the only stated gate, and successful access permits configuration changes, device reset, and firmware replacement.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
