Test-kernel crash via null HID device dereference
Published May 21, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Linux 6.3 through 6.5.11 and 6.6 through 6.6.1 causes a KUnit test kernel to crash during startup. The cleanup test passes a null HID device to uclogic_params_ugee_v2_init_event_hooks, whose battery check dereferences hdev->dev through hid_get_drvdata. The failure requires CONFIG_HID_UCLOGIC=y and CONFIG_KUNIT_ALL_TESTS=y and occurs in KUnit cleanup testing, with no reported trigger through normal HID input.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
