CVE-2023-52827

Kernel-memory disclosure or crash via unchecked HTT lengths

Published May 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in the Linux ath12k driver allows attackers controlling Wi-Fi firmware to expose kernel memory or crash the host. ath12k_htt_pull_ppdu_stats trusts the HTT payload_size and num_users fields, then walks PPDU statistics TLVs beyond the received buffer. Reachability requires an ath12k device to deliver a malformed PPDU_STATS_IND firmware message; over-the-air 802.11 frame contents do not directly reach this parser.
