CVE-2023-52769

Adjacent kernel corruption via missing RCU read lock

Published May 21, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Use-after-free in Linux 6.3 through 6.5.12 and 6.6 through 6.6.2 allows adjacent attackers to corrupt kernel memory. In ath12k_htt_mlo_offset_event_handler(), ath12k_mac_get_ar_by_pdev_id() dereferences an RCU-protected active-pdev entry without entering an RCU read-side critical section. Reachability requires an MLO-capable ath12k wireless interface and adjacent attackers who can drive multi-link events and teardown; successful racing can corrupt kernel state or crash the host.
