SMRAM disclosure via exposed SMI handler
Published May 28, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper access control in Huawei CurieM-WFG9B BIOS 2.28 allows local users to disclose SMRAM through the SMI handler interface. The exposed AmdPspP2CmboxV2 handler accepts SPI-flash interactions from common-permission callers, bypassing controls established by earlier UEFI phases. Local low-privilege access is required; exploitation leaks SMRAM, and the CNA reports that SMM memory corruption can lead to SMM code execution.
