Service interruption via failed meter replacement leak

Memory leak in the Open vSwitch meter handler in Linux allows local users to exhaust kernel memory through repeated meter updates. ovs_meter_cmd_set() detaches old_meter but does not free it when attachment of a replacement meter fails, leaking one allocation per failed update. The path requires local access with permission to issue Open vSwitch meter commands; sustained failures exhaust memory and interrupt service.
