Local system crash via NULL crossbar pad dereference
Published May 1, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in the Linux kernel's NXP i.MX8 ISI driver allows local users to crash the system through a media stream request. The crossbar stream translator looks up the remote subdevice for a sink pad and dereferences the returned pad without checking for NULL. Reaching the fault requires local access to enable a stream ending at an unconnected crossbar sink on hardware using this media driver; the resulting impact is a system crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
