Kernel crash via unchecked beacon retrieval
Published Mar 6, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in the Linux WFx Wi-Fi driver allows local users to crash the kernel while starting an access point. The wfx_set_mfp_ap() function dereferences the result of ieee80211_beacon_get() without checking whether beacon retrieval returned NULL. The path requires a Silicon Labs WF200 or WFM200 device and local access capable of starting AP mode; the published impact is a kernel crash only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
