Local service interruption via unreserved splash framebuffer
Published Mar 2, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Kernel panic in affected Linux kernels on Qualcomm DB845c systems allows local users to interrupt service through framebuffer access. The sdm845-db845c device tree fails to reserve the bootloader's continuous-splash framebuffer, allowing the arm SMMU to access that memory and raise an unhandled context fault. Reachability requires an arm64 DB845c system using the bootloader-provided splash region; the reported consequence is a kernel panic with no confidentiality or integrity impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
