System-privileged service interruption via missing bounds check
Published Apr 8, 2024 · Updated Mar 26, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Unisoc faceid service on affected Android 12 through Android 14 chipsets allows local users to interrupt the service. The service reads beyond a buffer boundary because it processes input without checking the relevant bound. Exploitation requires local access and System execution privileges; the public bulletin does not distinguish a crash from another interruption mode.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
