Network-service interruption via short USB register read

Use of an uninitialized value in the Linux kernel smsc75xx USB network driver allows local users to interrupt network service. When usbnet_read_cmd returns fewer than four requested bytes, __smsc75xx_read_reg treats the short read as success and leaves buf partly uninitialized for smsc75xx_wait_ready. Triggering occurs while the driver binds to an SMSC LAN75xx USB Ethernet device; the published record reports availability impact but no data access or code execution.
