Service interruption via FIFO regmap cache corruption

Improper FIFO cache handling in affected Linux kernels allows local users to interrupt service through SC16IS7XX serial I/O. The sc16is7xx FIFO routines use regmap_raw_read() and regmap_raw_write() for multi-byte, nonincrementing transfers, although those helpers assume incrementing register addresses and update the cache accordingly. Reaching the faulty path requires local access to a system using the SC16IS7XX device; the documented impact is limited to availability.
