CVE-2023-5247

Malicious code execution via externally controlled file path

Published Nov 30, 2023 · Updated Dec 2, 2024

External file-path control in GX Works3, iQ AppPortal, Navigator, and Motion Control Setting allows attackers to execute code. Project-file processing trusts an attacker-controlled filename or path when a crafted file is opened, enabling attacker-supplied code to run. Exploitation requires a legitimate user to open the file; execution can disclose, alter, or delete data or crash the application.
