Kernel crash via absent hibernation clock manager
Published Feb 23, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Linux 6.7 before 6.7.2 allows local users to crash the kernel during system hibernation. The display-core state-copy path checks DML2 support by dereferencing the source context's clk_mgr even when that pointer is absent. Triggering requires an AMD display stack, local low-privilege access, and a hibernation sequence; no confidentiality or integrity impact is reported.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
