Improper request validation in Linux kernel ksmbd allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive kernel information through SMB. smb2_get_ksmbd_tcon() and smb2_check_user_session() read the first SMB2 header rather than the current compound command, allowing a leading tree-connect command to skip tree-ID validation. The flaw is remotely reachable without authentication only when ksmbd is enabled; ZDI reports that it can support a chain to kernel code execution.
