Runtime crash via invalid tensor dimensions
Published Jan 3, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
Null pointer dereference in paddle.put_along_axis in PaddlePaddle before 2.6.0 allows attackers to crash the runtime with invalid tensor dimensions. The operator fails to reject a dimensionally invalid combination of destination, index, and scalar-value tensors before processing it, resulting in a null pointer dereference. Triggering the flaw requires execution of the affected API in a consuming process and terminates that runtime, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
