Arbitrary file read via unconstrained resource path
Published Jan 13, 2024 · Updated Jun 20, 2025
Path traversal in flaskcode 0.0.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files through a crafted resource-data GET request. The resource_data handler joins the route-controlled file_path to flaskcode_resource_basepath without canonicalization or a containment check, then passes the result to send_file. No authentication or user interaction is required; disclosure is limited to files readable by the flaskcode process.
