Unauthenticated code execution via variable overwrite
Published Dec 30, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Code injection in Outdoorbits Little Backup Box before f39f91c allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via web requests. The write_config function in scripts/config.php and request handling in scripts/view.php pass POST and GET arrays to PHP extract() with default overwrite behavior, letting attacker-controlled keys replace existing variables. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful exploitation executes code with the web application process's privileges.
