Server-side requests via external entity expansion
Published Feb 6, 2024 · Updated Jun 17, 2025
XXE in Magic xpi Integration Platform 4.13.4 allows remote attackers to trigger server-side HTTP and FTP requests through XML. The onItemImport SOAP endpoint accepts a DOCTYPE and resolves its attacker-controlled external entity URI instead of disabling external entity processing, enabling file and path exfiltration. The demonstrated request uses Basic authentication, while the published CVSS assessment classifies the flaw as requiring no privileges.
