Authenticated code execution via oversized ACL name
Published Jun 3, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in MERCUSYS MW325R EU V3 firmware 1.11.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The Access Control device-add handler fails to bound the name parameter, so an oversized value overwrites the saved ARM program counter. An authenticated management session and a valid Referer header are required; successful exploitation controls the router, while malformed attempts reboot it.
