Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Jan 5, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in ShapedPlugin LLC Smart Tabs 2.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via shortcode attributes. The shortcode renderer neither sanitizes user-supplied attributes before storage nor escapes them when generating a page, so injected script persists and runs in visitors' browsers. Contributor-level access is required to plant the payload, and execution occurs when another user opens the affected page, allowing browser-context data access and actions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
