Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped form settings
Published Nov 27, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Bookly before 22.5 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute script through booking-form settings. The Appearance settings path stores crafted markup in multiple bookly_l10n option values without sanitizing or escaping it, and the bookly-form shortcode later renders the value into a page. Administrator privileges and a visitor opening the published form are required, including where WordPress denies administrators the unfiltered_html capability.
