Stored XSS via unescaped ColorPicker values
Published Dec 28, 2023 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Stored XSS in Winter CMS before 1.2.4 allows remote authenticated users to inject script through a backend ColorPicker value. The _colorpicker.php partial writes the value directly into span content or an input value attribute without HTML escaping. Exploitation requires trusted backend access to an affected form and a higher-privileged user to open it, enabling attacker-controlled script execution in that user's backend session.
