Open redirect via unescaped edit-region parameter
Published Feb 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Open redirect in affected Liferay Portal and DXP releases allows remote attackers to redirect users to arbitrary external URLs. EditRegionMVCActionCommand uses the redirect request parameter to set WebKeys.REDIRECT without first passing the value through Portal.escapeRedirect. A victim must interact with an attacker-crafted request that reaches the edit-region action; the resulting response sends the browser to the supplied external site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
