CVE-2023-51835Public exploit

Administrative code execution via unsanitized ping input

Published Feb 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 28, 2024

Command injection in TRENDnet TEW-822DRE firmware 1.03B02 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through IPv4 ping input. The /boafrm/formSystemCheck handler fails to neutralize shell syntax in the ipv4_ping parameter before invoking the device's ping operation. Administrative access from the device's local network is required, and successful injection runs attacker-chosen commands with the web service's privileges.
