CVE-2023-51794Public exploit

Arbitrary code execution via zero-length audio buffer

Published Apr 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Heap-based buffer overflow in FFmpeg n113007-g8d24a28d06 allows local users to execute arbitrary code through the stereowiden audio filter. The config_input routine accepts a calculated zero sample length, passes it to av_calloc, and the filter later accesses the resulting buffer out of bounds. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and filter input that produces a zero length; code runs in the FFmpeg process context.
