Pre-auth SYSTEM command execution via expired-session help link
Published Dec 25, 2023 · Updated Sep 9, 2024
Kiosk escape in One Identity Password Manager before 5.13.1 allows local users to execute commands as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. After a password-reset session expires, Secure Password Extension exposes a normally hidden external help link; an upload dialog then accepts cmd in its path field and starts a SYSTEM command prompt. Access to a locked Windows client, physically or through RDP, and an expiring Password Manager session are required; the result is SYSTEM-level command execution on that client.
