CVE-2023-51663Network attack vector

Unauthorized account creation via mutable OIDC email claims

Published Dec 29, 2023 · Updated Apr 17, 2025

Authentication bypass in Hail before 0.2.127 allows remote attackers to create unauthorized Hail Batch accounts via mutable OIDC email claims. The signup callback treats the email domain in an identity-provider token as organization membership instead of validating the Google hosted-domain or Azure tenant identifier. No private-data access or user impersonation follows; job execution requires enabled trial billing projects, while the Azure path requires tenant administrator access.
