Credential theft via omitted certificate revocation checks
Published Dec 22, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Improper certificate validation in Snowflake Connector for .NET 2.0.25 through 2.1.4 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to steal credentials. With insecureMode set to its false default, the connector omits CRL checks and accepts a correctly issued Snowflake TLS certificate after revocation. Exploitation requires intercepted network traffic and possession of the corresponding private key; exposed Snowflake credentials can then be compromised.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
