Unauthorized Job execution via missing object checks
Published Dec 22, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Incorrect authorization in Nautobot 1.5.14 through 1.6.7 and 2.0.0 through 2.0.x allows remote authenticated users to run unauthorized Jobs. The /extras/job-button/{uuid}/run/ JobButtonRunView checks only the model-level extras.run_job permission and omits authorization for the selected Job object. Access to any single Job is sufficient, but only configured JobButton jobs backed by JobButtonReceiver subclasses are reachable; the executed Job determines the operational effect.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
