CVE-2023-51603

Code execution via unvalidated CAB paths

Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

Path traversal in Honeywell Saia PG5 Controls Suite before 2.3.196.255 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted CAB file. The CAB parser fails to validate an archive-supplied path before using it in file operations, allowing files to escape the intended extraction directory. Exploitation requires the current user to visit a malicious page or open the file, and resulting code runs with that user's privileges.
