Credential disclosure via unauthenticated getModbusPassword access
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Missing authentication in Voltronic Power ViewPower 1.04.21353 allows remote attackers to disclose stored credentials via getModbusPassword. The getModbusPassword method returns stored Modbus credentials without first authenticating the request or checking authorization. Any network-reachable unauthenticated requester can retrieve the credentials; the published impact is limited to confidentiality, while credential reuse enables further compromise.
