CVE-2023-51438Network attack vector

Unauthenticated RAID modification and system-file access

Published Jan 9, 2024 · Updated May 22, 2025

Improper input validation in maxView Storage Manager on affected SIMATIC IPCs allows remote attackers to gain unauthorized Redfish access. The Redfish server fails to validate unspecified request input, but Siemens and Microchip have not disclosed the affected handler or exact validation error. The server must be configured for remote management; access permits known-path system-file reads and RAID changes that can cause data loss.
