Network denial of service via NULL pointer dereference
Published Sep 6, 2024 · Updated Sep 6, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in QNAP QTS 5.1.x and QuTS hero h5.1.x allows remote attackers to interrupt NAS service via a network. QNAP has not published the affected component or the network input that reaches the invalid pointer dereference. No authentication or user interaction is required under QNAP's assessment, but high attack complexity limits reachability and the reported consequence is service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
