CVE-2023-51367Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unchecked buffer copy

Published Sep 6, 2024 · Updated Sep 6, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in QNAP QTS before 5.1.6.2722 build 20240402 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The affected network-facing component copies attacker-controlled input into a stack buffer without checking whether the input fits. A valid user account and network access are required, and QNAP has not disclosed which service receives the crafted input.
