Sensitive-file access via unvalidated HLS_tmp path
Published Apr 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Path traversal in QNAP QTS and QuTS hero allows remote authenticated users to read sensitive files through a network request. The share.cgi endpoint fails to validate the user-supplied HLS_tmp path before using it in file operations. QNAP describes the gate as gained user access and the impact as sensitive-file disclosure, while ZDI reports no authentication and admin-context file creation or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
