Path traversal in affected QNAP QTS, QuTS hero, and QuTScloud releases allows attackers to read or modify files through crafted uploads. The upload handler uses a user-supplied path in file operations without validating that the resolved path remains in the intended directory. QNAP describes user-level access and sensitive-file reads, while ZDI reports unauthenticated file creation or content deletion with administrative process privileges.
